Ohm
Ohm is the latest release from Shakti Thara showing her versality as a genre gypsy. The Spriitually tinged vibe maintains her unique signature sound while reflecting the current sounds of Pop/Dance and Electro. Her capturing this sound is also something she grew up with living in major club cities like San Francisco, Chicago & NYC. The mainstream result is not formulated to the point she departs from her uniqueness but rather brings something fresh both lyrically and visually. Feminenergy
Feminenergy contains rich eastern beats, ancient melodic Indian ragas interwoven with Pop and Urban grooves. She draws from her ethnic heritage with extreme fluidity. She defines Feminine Energy and Power. Shakti’s International Hit Single “Do The Thang Thang” received tremendous airplay from BBC Radio 1, to American Stations such as New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 Los Angeles. Shakti charted #5 in India on Times Music.
As a catalyst for bridging cultural gaps, she continues to display her efforts with her debut Feminenergy which features recording artist Heather Hunter and other guest appearances. This innovative project is produced by "Bellringer" and an internationally acclaimed team of producers such as Bollywood's Karthik Raaja, Lounge Lizzards, Aaron "Freedom" Lyles (Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone) and The Jettsonz (Nina Sky, Sean Paul, Tarkan). Shakti's music has been featured in the film Paul Blart Mall Cop, the film "Something Borrowed" Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model and on the IFC original series Bollywood Hero, just to name a few. Her music was commercially used by Nike.
Butterfly
The Butterfly - is a symbol of growth, transformation and beauty. An influence in true artistry and a very apt title for Shakti’s latest project. Butterfly, is a bit of departure from the more spiritually tinged Feminenergy but brings the same amount of Shakti’s special brand of female power.
The EP showcases her love for and skills in the hip hop game. “8 Ball Jacket” has been receiving airplay and remains one of her more requested tracks when performing. It never fails to get the crowd hyped.
Meant To Be (Single)
Meant To Be captures the UK sound of Dubstep with Electro/Dance Pop elements. Produced by Bellringer/Global Soul Productions the single establishes Shakti Thara's eclectic vocal genre stylings in a more pop commercial tone. Meant To Be has received tremendous support in Japan and has been featured on New York's 92.3 Dance Station as well as gotten strong DJ support and airplay of the various mixes.
